10 resources, 5 events, & 4 job roles for YOU

We're starting this week on a heavy note... Our industry is a sadder place as we mourn the loss of the brilliant Jenn Bauguess 💔

Jenn joined Women in Tech SEO five years ago (summer 2021) and was one of our most active members.

✔️ Attended our very first WTSFest Philly in 2023

✔️ Joined our mentorship program in 2023 & got paired up with the fab Jess Joyce

✔️ One of the first people to jump at WTS merch & the opportunity to amplify our community

✔️ Repped WTS at several events, including MozCon 2024, always making members feel welcome

I spent the morning going through a little over a hundred messages that Jenn had posted in our Slack. She always shared openly, vulnerably, and kindly.

I'm going to miss her so much; our community won't be the same without her 💙

More details on her memorial fund will be shared here by her family & friends: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-jenns-fight-against-breast-cancer-hdz5d

Take care of yourselves & your loved ones,

Areej

Our latest WTSKnowledge

If you've been using Pinterest just for wedding or home decor projects, you may have been using it wrong the whole time...

Why? Pinterest isn’t just another social media platform.

It’s a search engine at its core.

You don’t have to learn a new platform from scratch; you can use your SEO skills in a new way.

Julia Bochesse discussed why Pinterest deserves a place in your marketing strategy, and how to make it work for both B2B and B2C businesses.

Your team has the AI licenses. Now what?
[Headline Sponsor: DayNova]

People innovate. AI elevates. Most teams have the AI tools. Few have the systems or bandwidth to actually use them.

AI automations don't fail because the tech broke. They fail because the company wasn't built for AI integration. DayNova builds AI automations, company systems, and the team capability to run them.

DayNova is founded by Travis Tallent (fmr. Brainlabs SVP), backed by neuroscience, and built with your people, not for them.

WTSers (like YOU!) get free access to the 7-minute AI Capability Diagnostic.

No pitch. Just the stats to help accelerate your team.

P.S. We also have capacity to give 10 WTS business leaders a full team-wide AI Capability Audit. - email travis@daynova.ai if that's you.

[NEXT WEEK] All things Philly! 🥨

What if you knew exactly what to expect from a conference before you attended?

Over the years, many people have told us they skipped a conference entirely, because they felt anxious, nervous, or unsure that it would be a space where they felt comfortable being fully themselves. We get it.

If you’re keen to find out if WTSFest Philadelphia is right for you, attend our live Zoom session on Tuesday June 23rd at 11am EDT.

Join WTSFest organisers, past attendees, & exhibitors for a first-hand walkthrough of how WTSFest is designed, what it feels like to be a part of it, & answering any questions you have.

We understand that signing up for an event like this can be overwhelming.

So start with this first. No pressure, no commitment, just the opportunity to find out a little more.

Are you an AI Skeptic or an AI Enthusiast? 🤔

There's been a lot of conversation in our community recently about member's feelings about AI - it's effect on the environment, enabling elevated work, ability to hinder human creativity, increasing efficiency & more.

Navah Hopkins organised a study, running two focus groups:

  • AI enthusiasts
  • AI skeptics

The results were so interesting to see - here's a sneak peak:

"Both groups, in their own way, are asking for the same thing:

AI that helps people do better work without asking them to surrender the judgement, creativity, and critical thinking that make the work matter in the first place."

Thank you to Navah Hopkins and the Microsoft Advertising team for conducting this research.

Not only do we get this helpful resource, but they listen to our member's and take that feedback back to the product team to see what can be actioned on.

Howdy Reader,WTSFest Philadelphia is coming up on October 1st & we're trying something new... I know I've said "no" or didn't sign up for events, activities, just new things in general because I didn't know what to expect when I got there. Not knowing was enough of a barrier for me to skip grabbing the ticket or hitting that RSVP button all together. One of the things Areej & I try to do with WTSFest is help people understand what it will feel like before they arrive - all our past photo...
