Unanswered Q&A

Question 1: Other than checking citations etc manually on AI directly or measuring CTA/KPI/Goals, does Siteimprove offer any ways of measuring AI performance?

Yes, Siteimprove offers an AEO Visibility and Analytics dashboard that tracks citations and responses to prompts for both the primary brand as well as identified competitors.

> Guide: How to use Siteimprove.ai in the new AI search world

Question 2: What are the most common technical implementation mistakes you see organizations make that negatively impact all three areas, accessibility, SEO, and AI search visibility?

Most common ones we see would include poor redirect hygiene. These are often put as the last priority and never remedied during website refreshes. This is followed by improper canonical tagging and not doing alt text or descriptive text properly.

> Blog resource: Alt text: How to make meaning obvious to humans and machines

Question 3:
What output metrics do you use to prove the value of accessibility?

  • Increase on traffic
  • bounce rate reduction
  • increase on key metrics/conversions
  • overall UX/UI improvement
  • general brand reputation/sentiment
  • key funnel/ user journey bottleneck elimination/help

> Blog resource: ROI of situational accessibility

> Blog resource: How to make the business case for accessible content

Question 4: Do you have any resources to share about how we can monitor the impact of doing this work (ie in the search results)?

Absolutely! We have a lot of different resources that we can point you to:

Question 5: Most recent advice I've seen from a few sources is that LLMs only check the first 300 words - is that not the case?

That is certainly not the case. LLMs have context windows that range in the hundreds of thousands in terms of tokens, which allow them to comprehend extremely large amounts of text.

LLMs are also looking for the best passages to cite and realize those may not be in the first 300 words, so this is where a proper heading structure really comes into play.
