Stop writing the same articles as competitors & 10x your authority
[WTSNewsletter Headline Sponsor: FLOQ]

Traditional SEO tools tell you what people search for.

Topic Compass reveals what people think about.

Our semantic analysis uncovers the mental models your audience uses, like:

β˜• Coffee may connect to meditation
πŸ‘Ÿ Sneakers could link to status and identity
🌱 Gardening might underscore themes of patience and mental health

These associations create content opportunities your competitors can't see because they're stuck optimizing based on existing search results. We explore the semantic connections where authentic content lives.

Perfect for SEO professionals who understand Google's algorithms recognize conceptual relationships, not just keyword density.

Beta access means early insight into audience mental models that could reshape your content strategy. Discover the connections you didn't know existed.

WTSNewsletter Series: From invisible to indexed in AI search

Part 1: Why your content might be invisible in AI search

[Part 1 of 3]

Series Author: Tiffany Kroll

Hello WTS community! - I'm Tiffany, Director of Growth at WTSPartner, Prerender.io. I'm excited to kick off this 3 part series on a critical (but often overlooked) aspect of our changing SEO space: website visibility for AI crawlers.
---

PSA: Your Website Content May Be Invisible in AI Search

We’ve all spent years optimizing for crawlers like Googlebot, Bingbot, Facebookbot, and more. But generative search engines are changing that. (Even though AEO is under the SEO umbrella, there are nuances with AEO that we need to consider.)

For example, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and other AI platforms are quickly becoming primary discovery channels for millions of users. But there’s a problem: your important information might be completely invisible to these AI crawlers. Why? Because AI crawlers can’t currently execute JavaScript.

What This Means For Your Site

If your website (or your clients' sites) relies on JavaScript, there's a good chance that critical content is completely hidden from AI crawlers. Here are types of content that might be missing in AI answers:

  • Product descriptions and pricing
  • User reviews and testimonials
  • Content that loads after the initial page load
  • Content behind tabs (ex: FAQs)
  • FAQs, accordion dropdowns, or "load more" buttons

In our internal analysis of thousands of websites, we've found that up to 70% of critical content could be completely invisible to AI crawlers.

The Technical Gap

Here’s what’s going on:

  1. Traditional search engines like Google have made progress with seeing all your website content (though it's still imperfect)
  2. Many generative AI crawlers from engines like ChatGPT only see what's in the initial page load
  3. If your content appears after that initial load, AI crawlers may miss it entirely

This creates a growing disconnect between what users see and what AI systems can access. This means that your content could be left out of generative AI search responses entirely.

Why This Matters

With tools like ChatGPT receiving over 700 million weekly active users (Backlinko, August 2025), this visibility gap is no longer theoretical. It's impacting your traffic, conversions, and brand visibility now.

In parts two and three of this series, I'll help you understand how to diagnose if your site has this problem, along with practical solutions for ensuring your content is visible to both traditional and AI crawlers.

Have questions in the meantime? Feel free to check out our popular article on How to Get Indexed in AI Search or find me on LinkedIn to spark up a conversation.
